Summer Camp
With the end of summer, the kids have returned home with fond memories of summer camp. As they transition back into school life, they’ll have plenty of exciting stories to tell their classmates about the fun times they had in the great outdoors, learning about the natural world and bonding with their fellow-campers in the shared experience of life among the lakes and trees. Now those trees are turning gold, red, and orange, but it’s never too early to start thinking about next year’s summer camp.
Summer camps like Camp Walden in Ontario encourage prospective campers and their families to learn about the camp during the off season so that they’ll be prepared, ready, and excited come camp time in the summer. Now is a great time to start the learning process, exploring the world of summer camps and thinking about what type of camp would be best for your child.
There are a number of summer camp options you’ll need time to think about. Would your child be better off at a day camp or an overnight camp? Do you want your child to attend a traditional summer camp featuring classic activities like archery and canoeing; or would you rather send your child to an enrichment camp based around an academic subject, or a heritage camp like Camp Walden which is build around Jewish culture and traditions?
With hundreds of summer camps in Canada, and dozens of themes and affiliations, you need to start your research now so your child will be able to attend the camp of her or his dreams when school lets out and summer comes around again.
